Antonio Mondonico is one of the
last of a long line of Italian master frame builders, a
science and practiced skill that results in a beautiful and
efficient racing machine. The acquisition of this ability does not come easily.
It is the result of a lifetime of hard work, building in a part of the world in
which the good bike is commonplace and only the great bikes gain recognition.
And among the great bikes, none is more revered than a Mondonico.

New for 2009 ~
Mondonico
Spirit ~
For the traditional rider who appreciates the great
ride of steel!
Handmade in Italy of the finest heat treated steel, Columbus Spirit, drawn to
.4mm.
Spirit is an extra-fine grain Niobium steel alloy that allows a world class
frame builder to build a frame with an excellent resistance/weight ratio and
durability similar to titanium. The Mondonico Spirit is joined in the
traditional brazed manner with investment cast lugs throughout, a cast bottom
bracket shell, and fully forged vertical dropouts. A 52cm frame weighs a mere
3.3 pounds!
Futura Leggero Nemo ~
A 3.9 lb cromoly frame of Columbus Nemo 747 Nivacrom and
Cyclex cromoly tubing beautifully crafted by a
genuine Italian master builder. Lusciously finished in your
choice of
12 Dupont Imron colors plus chromed rear dropouts. The tube walls are cold drawn down
to only 0.4mm, as thin as virtually any tubing in the world. And the Nivacrom
alloy guarantees that very little strength is lost in brazing or welding.
Includes Torelli Aspect carbon fork.
"The ride is EXCEPTIONALLY smooth. I have never ridden a
bike - steel, titanium, or aluminum - with such a smooth ride. Any bike rides
well on good roads. However, the real proof of a frame and fork is how it rides
on rough roads. The Mondonico [Futura Leggero] is exceptional on all road
surfaces and a real joy to ride!...Because of your fit my position over the
pedals and the transfer of power is much more efficient than on my other pro
bikes. I am significantly faster on the Mondonico! Bottom line, I would buy a
Mondonico again (and may!). Thanks for all your help."

Airplane ~

This is a brand new Mondonico Airplane frameset
personally made by Antonio - never built up.
Mondonico's
2.3 lb Airplane frame is immaculately TIG welded to perfection. Tested for four
years in the pro peloton, Columbus Airplane tubing is one of the finest tubesets
ever made - very light, very strong with incredible acceleration, yet
supple and secure over rough terrain. The seatstays are Columbus 'Muscle' carbon fiber for extra
comfort as well as increased road grip. Includes full carbon
Deda Black fork and a truly stunning "Super Decor" finish in dark blue with black and red
contrast and white decals, as pictured. Was $3499.99!

747 Carbon ~

Personally handmade by Antonio!
One of Antonio's finest, the Monza Carbon combines the
proven ride of Columbus Nemo 747 cromoly tubing with carbon seatstays for even
more
plushness and road contour in the ride. Especially good for longer miles over technical
terrain. Frame weight is just 3.6 lbs. Includes Torelli
Aspect carbon fork plus chrome rear dropouts. Color is silver with black
decals, as pictured.
50cm
red Mondonico EL-OS ~
Built entirely from oversized Columbus Nivacrom steel, the EL-OS is both a
superior steel frame and a stunning work of art. From the meticulously
handbrazed and
filed lugwork to the
fastback seatstays, the EL-OS
represents the pinnacle of old-world Italian craftsmanship. The paint is
lustrous Dupont
Imron with a deep, rich clearcoat and chrome rear dropouts and right chainstay.
With unsurpassed comfort, stability and control, the EL-OS is an
excellent choice for riders that won't settle for anything less than the best.
Price includes Antonio's handmade Columbus Nivacrom cromoly fork.
This is the last remaining EL-OS frame personally built by Antonio! It
was made as a backup bike for legendary New Zealand pro racer, Graeme Miller. But,
it was never needed so it's now available as a frameset only. The frame and
finish are still mint, just like new. Color is Ferrari red, red with a pinch of
orange. Seat tube = 50cm center to center with a 53cm top tube, 75 degree seat
angle, and 72 degree head angle. This is a very special frame that will never be
available again.
